Beautiful Authentic American Indian Spiritual Gifts
UNIQUE American Indian Gifts for yourself or those special people in your life.

WELCOME to Native Webs, and thank you for joining me within my Sacred Space on this earth journey.!!! I have been designing and creating one-of-a-kind authentic American Indian gifts since 1992. The first place I sold my work was in an American Indian owed gift shop, owned by a friend. At that time, I considered myself to be non-indian, so I was very honored to be asked to sell in this Indian owned store.( I do have a drop of indian blood in me,but when I found this out and wanted to seek further information, the indian blood was confirmed, but I was told that those who know are dead.) I had considered myself a non-indian. I was speaking with a "Sister in Spirit' about this, whom is Cherokee, and she told me that an elder had told her if you have even a drop of indian blood, then you are indian, so walk with Pride. So, my personal thoughts have changed because of this.) In 1996,"NEW AGE RETAILER MAGAZINE" published an article about my work, in an article by Donna Paz. Also, Farm Bureau's magazine, "Family Living in Farm Country" published an article about my work by Kristin Danley-Greiner entitled " Creating Native American Cultural Crafts" in their March 1998 edition. All my pieces are one-of-a-kind. All my dream catchers are made of WILLOW, gathered at the Raccoon River Valley in Iowa. All my dream catchers have feather work on BOTH SIDES, and a single dream catcher can easily have over 100 feathers intricately worked onto the willow hoop. I make the clay beads which are within the web of each dream catcher.(the bead represents Grandmother Spider.) The legend of the Dream Catcher tells that when the Dream Catcher is hung above those who sleep, the bad dreams will be caught within the web,and the good dreams will pass thru the center hole of the web and onto the dreamer. The bad dreams are held within the web till the light of Grandfather Sun of a new day cleanses the web. I also create Prayer Fans, Talking Feathers, small Smudge Fans, Feather jewelry, Shields, and much more. I also make Dream Catcher earrings (in 4 styles and the webs are woven with metallic thread, which allows for a lot of diversity in colors available. I use 9 different colors of thread.) I have an item called a Dream Star(which are made on a metal hoop wrapped with leather which has a star in the middle, using glass Crow beads as the joining points in an 6-pointed star.) I have used the Dream Stars myself to honor a friend who has crossed over to "the other side" by hanging a star outside from a tree branch or you can hang them from hooks. They are simply leather and beads, and withstand the weather.I received a Dream Star several years ago from a friend, and it is the only one I have ever seen. I also design baskets, using plain baskets which I cover with Rabbit fur and then decorate them with leather, beads and feathers. I work with several types of featherS. Ring-neck Chinese Pheasant and also exotic Pheasants (Lady Amherst-Golden Pheasant and Reeves), Wild Bronze Turkey, and exotic Roosters and at times I have Ruffed Grouse and Bob White Quail. I also use exotic feathers( from Parrots-Peacocks and Emu's) The feathers from the exotics come from natural molting and the natural loss of feathers. As in tradtion with American Indian ways, I don't use feathers which come from a winged-one who is killed for sport. All the feathers that I use on my work are legal within the state of Iowa, and in most states. If you are unsure about the legality of my work within your state, please check with your local DNR office..Since 1992 I have not run into any state in which my work would be illegal. I, of course, don't use illegal feathers, such as Song birds, Hawks, Owls or Eagles. Please honor the Federal and State laws that makes even the possession of one feather from these listed birds illegal. Honor the beauty of these endangered and protected winged-ones on your earth journey and honor the LAWS TO PROTECT THESE WINGED ONES. I know that once you purchase a piece of my work, you will enjoy the beauty and the spiritual significance of it for years to come. My work is a great addition for anyone collecting American Indian Arts and Crafts.
